I take all my notes with OneNote and I love how organized it keeps me with the different folders for all my classes. I love the wide variety of colors and options for decorating! I do have a fear that something will happen and all my notes will get deleted so I always save the really important ones as pdf’s on my mac. I know that this won’t happen but I’ve thought about it a lot. Otherwise, I love this app and I will continue to use it for the rest of my time at university and on!
OneNote is the best. It’s clean, organized and FAST. The layout and note structure is very inuitive and you can ALWAYS find your stuff. It may sound clique, but I don’t know how I survived without it! BUT- they could improve the Mac version by allowing for multiple windows to be open like on a MS Window devices.
I use this app to categorize my important papers into folders to make them easier to find. For instance, we’ve been doing a lot of landscaping projects, so we have a “Landscaping” folder with subfolders for each project - Sidewalks, Patios, Sod, Drainage and then all the docs that relate to those issues. Makes it so easy to track and share project data with others and across my devices (iphone, ipad, and iMac). We were using Evernote in the same capacity, but after getting a note from Evernote complaining that it’s not to be used as a document storage database, instead they only want it used for COORDINATION and PLANNING…That unsolicited comment from Evernote came although I had the premium paid service as well…so Evernote lost my business and now I’m with Microsoft and equally satisifed with their solution for document, without the limitations put on by Evernote. Thanks Microsoft.
I enjoyed this product simplicity and fresh look
This product has really been amazing keeping me organized and allowing me to take notes on the fly.
As of Version 15.22.1: Still no way to save your notebooks locally. I have a fundamental problem storing my notes and data “in the cloud”. OneNote for Mac has no local storage capabilities, and forces users to store their confidential or sensitive information on Microsoft’s servers outside the users’ control. I have a fundamental problem with that. If there’s one thing Edward Snowden taught me it’s not to trust my data stored on other people’s servers. I don’t use iCloud either.
I love OneNote so much - beautiful, user-friendly piece of software that integrates transparently between my Windows and Apple platforms: Windows at work, Macbook at home, iPhone, iPad. Great search facility, so I can always find my notes even if I don’t remember how I organized them. The formatting is EFFORTLESS. Nothing to remember - just jump in and use it effectively. Really really great product.
May 7, 2016 UPDATE: I was excited to see a new update….but….the fonts still revert back to OneNote’s original font (Calibre) when a new row in a table is added. AND, no way to back up your notes locally. Darn it! Make those changes and this program is five plus stars! UPDATE: Font issue is much more than I mentioned in my original review. For example, if I select the “Times New Roman, 12 pt” font for a table, everytime I hit a carriage return in the same line of the table to add a new paragraph, the font changes to the original font “Calibri, 11 pt” The same thing happens when I insert a line above, below, left, or right. The font defaults to the original “Calibri, 11 pt” font even though the rest of the table is in “Times New Roman, 12 pt.” This is very time-consuming to constantly ensure every new line and every new row is maintaining the “Times New Roman, 12 pt” font. 1. Please give us the ability to change the default font for ALL notes, not just NEW notes because the way it is now, I have to go into each and every note and manually change the title font and the note font, which is a HUGE pain, very time consuming, AND all new lines revert back to the old font. Very annoying 2. Please give Mac and iOS users a way to back up locally. Fix these two issues and will change to five-star rating.
This is a great note taking program to use across all my devices
App works even better on MAC, convenient, and organizes your day to day live. Cloud base storage, that works also offline and syncs when possible, what else? ….
I love one note. Easiest and most efficient way to track notes over a long period of time, easy functionality for bullet formats. I use it to take notes from class, use a different tab for my own notes on the book, I copy and paste power points into a different tab, and then I can keep my notes from problems or questions I worked on in a different tab. All my information for a topic is neatly placed in one area, its great. I advise every student no matter the level of schooling schould utilize One Note.
I love this app. This is by far one of best apps handsdown. I never run into glitches. It works seamlessly. No COMPLAINTS. keeps getting better and better
I find myself keeping notes on so many different topics, and found that only ONENOTE was able to handle and organize my notes. I use an iPod Touch and an iMac, and tried to use the Apple Product, Notes. In the beginning Notes seemed to work, as long as I kept the titles alphabetized, I could keep some semblance of organization… but after using ONENOTE, I transferred all my data from NOTES. ONENOTE allows you to create separate Notebooks, and then Tabs within that Notebook. It’s an amazing APP that seamlessly works through through the cloud keeping my iMac and iPod Touch allways in sync. This is a no brainier… it’s a solid running App, Excellently set up… don’t hesitate.
I love this app, as a student who works after class its hard for me to keep up with physical papers. With this app being right on my laptop, im more likey to go back and study the material, because im often on my macbook. Can’t live without it.
One Note is easy to use. I like how you can have multiples notebooks. I have a work, personal, and business notebook. I love it becuase you have access to the your information on your iphone if you have the One Note application and in your computer. What I love the best of One Note is that it works on both mac and microsoft.
It’s so easy to maintain notes with the onenote. Excellent tool! I get a lot done due to this!
For me is not a replacement for Evernote. It is a complentary file system. It works marverously and expanded my archiving personal system.
I appreciate the work you guys are doing. It has slowly grown on me and I use it nowfor everthing- from work documentation, meetings to church sermons! God Bless
Great app worth learning to use, so flexible it can insert PDF JPG and so many diffenent types of files. You can even hand write notes with apple pen or other. I have been impressed with the number of notes I have in this file and yet haven’t been asked to upgrade and pay a fee like other apps. Works very accross all my divices.
